Renato Ramos
MD, PhD
Before joining the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto in 2017, Dr. Ramos was an Associate Professor, Department of Psychiatry, University of Sao Paulo where he was the head of the Laboratory of Psychophysics and Virtual Reality. Dr. Ramos has been working in collaboration with researchers from the Polytechnic School, University of Sao Paulo on modeling human behaviours and information theory in cognitive systems. His previous projects include readiness potentials in OCD, interactions between cognitive performance and balance control, psychopharmacology of anxiety, cognitive ergonomics in aircraft projects, and theoretical investigations in models of cognition, self-organization, complex systems theory applied to cognition, information theory, philosophy of mind, and philosophy of AI.
