In 2026, the University of Toronto and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) announced plans to develop a centre of excellence that will use AI-based tools to improve early disease diagnosis, widen access to care, and train specialists working at the intersection of AI and medicine.
IIIT-Delhi is a comprehensive research-led teaching institute where faculty, students, staff, and alumni work together in a spirit of discovery and creativity to build a better world. The Institute emphasizes quality education, research, and innovation leading to entrepreneurship. The teaching activities at the Institute derive strength from the cutting-edge research conducted by faculty, strong industry linkages, and international collaborations.
In May 2023, 20 faculty members and trainees from the University of Toronto’s Temerty Centre for AI Research and Education in Medicine (T-CAIREM) attended a three-day Catalyst Collaboration Workshop in Haifa, Israel, with counterparts from the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. The workshop introduced researchers from both institutions to one another, facilitating future collaborative projects.
