Dr. Mahmoud Aarabi is a Diplomate of the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG) and a former trainee of Queen's and McGill Universities. After finishing a 3-year fellowship in Clinical Laboratory Genetics and Genomics at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), Dr. Aarabi returned to Canada in 2019 and started his work as a Laboratory Geneticist at North York General Hospital, and as Assistant Professor of Pathobiology and Laboratory Medicine at the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto. Dr. Aarabi has over 25 peer-reviewed research publications in genetics and genomics. He is an active member of the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ACMG), and was recently appointed as a member of the ACMG Social, Ethical, and Legal Issues Committee. Dr. Aarabi is very passionate about education of health care providers and trainees about laboratory diagnostics in the genomics era.
