Jonathan Rose
PhD, FIEEE, FACM, FRSC, FM NAE, FCAE
Jonathan Rose is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Toronto. His research focus is the use of software to support mental health measurement, diagnosis and therapy. In 1998 he co-founded Right Track CAD Corporation and served as CEO until May 2000, when Right Track was acquired by Altera Corporation, where he served as Senior Director of Altera Toronto (now part of Intel) until 2003.
He served as Chair of Electrical and Computer Engineering from 2004-2009, and serves as the Chair of the Advisory Board of the Engineering Entrepreneurship Hatchery.
He is the recipient of a UofT Faculty Award for excellence in teaching and research and the Medal for Distinction in Engineering Education from Engineers Canada. In 2016 he was a recipient of the Presidential Teaching Award for Teaching Excellence at the University of Toronto, and the OCUFA excellence in teaching award.
He is a Fellow of the IEEE, ACM, the Canadian Academy of Engineering, the Royal Society of Canada and a Foreign Member of the American National Academy of Engineering. He has served on the Board of Academics without Borders since 2012 and as a member of the Governing Board of Massey College since 2011.
