I have always had a strong interest in the application of technology in the healthcare sector and especially in the area of paediatrics.  After completing my MASc degree in 2009, I joined Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital as an Assistive Technology Consultant working with clinicians to assess and prescribe technical solutions for children with communication needs.  In 2018, I transitioned to the Bloorview Research Institute as a Neuroinformatics Lead and Research Coordinator in the Cerebral Palsy Discovery Lab, where I currently manage a multi-site study focused on collecting and analyzing data from families of children with cerebral palsy across Ontario.  The data in this study includes qualitative interviews, health data, questionnaires, neuroimaging and genomics, which got me interested in the many possibilities of applying AI in the healthcare sector.  As such, I began taking Data Science and AI courses at the University's School of Continuing Studies and recently passed the certification exam that was offered as part of the American Board of AI in Medicine (ABAIM) group.  I think AI has tremendous potential in the healthcare sector and I am very interested in joining and contributing to T-CAIREM to encourage true partnership between the data science and medical communities.
