Dr. Sussman completed her BASc in Engineering Science - Physics stream, with honours from the University of Toronto, MSc in Biophysics from Waterloo University, and her PhD in Medical Biophysics with a focus on Clinical Imaging, from the University of Toronto. She then completed her postdoctoral fellowships at the Hospital for Sick Children where she further specialized in Developmental Neuroimaging using Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Fetal Diagnostic Imaging, and Maternal-Fetal Physiology.

Dr. Sussman is an Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering (TMU) with an Adjunct affiliation in Obstetrics and Gynecology (UofT, Mt. Sinai Hospital).

Her current research focuses on the development and clinical validation of novel AI techniques that facilitate obstetric and gynecologic disease diagnosis and prognostication.
