My segue into the interdisciplinary field of data science was a self-designed research project in the field of Bioinformatics which I pursued in my senior thesis. To hone my predilection for the research environment, I worked as a Research Assistant where I assisted in every aspect of conducting a clinical study. I also held multiple Teaching Assistant positions and I developed e-Learning modules for course curricula. Among numerous student initiatives, I co-founded McMaster’s undergraduate scholarly science journal, Sciential, where I served for two years as an Editor-in-Chief. In parallel to my academic obligations, I learned about biomedical ethics, metaphysics, and existentialism, as well as the contemporary applications of their principles.

T-CAIREM represents an intricate intersection of the fields of data science and philosophy. My ambition, with prospective membership, is to extend the developing AI initiatives into the clinical setting and to, ultimately, advance healthcare administration and patient data flow through knowledge translation, technological competence, and collaboration with clinicians and researchers in the field.

Currently, I am a Master of Biotechnology candidate, and I aspire to use my enthusiasm, experience in pedagogy, and background in data science and digital technologies to contribute to enhancing the future of medicine with T-CAIREM.
