T-CAIREM is seeking UofT faculty affiliates to join us in developing and delivering exciting programs for our growing artificial intelligence (AI) in the medical community. Spots are limited, so apply today!
T-CAIREM is the catalyst for healthcare of the future. We're developing AI education programs, funding research, and providing a secure data platform for applied learning and research. Our growing community has more than 1400 members across Canada and through international partnerships.
T-CAIREM Themes Where You Can Get Involved
We have several areas where University of Toronto faculty members can help! Our core themes and their functions are outlined below:
• Research:This team oversees the granting process and fosters multidisciplinary collaborative research in AI in health. To date, T-CAIREM has awarded over $1M in grants to deserving researchers.
• Education:The team develops and delivers educational and training activities to T-CAIREM members and industry, including AI in medicine courses and the summer student research program.
• Infrastructure: This team administers T-CAIREM's Health Data Nexus, a unique online platform for health data to help power applied AI health research.
• Community:This team establishes international and national partnerships and spearheads new programs to expand our inclusive and diverse community of engaged members.
Members are encouraged to specify what theme they're most interested in working with on the application form.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities and expected time commitment depend on your interests and how much time you'd like to contribute — we're flexible and would like you to be engaged in things that excite you!
Some examples of the types of activities you could get involved in are listed below:
• Serving as an adjudicator and moderator/host for T-CAIREM activities such as annual Trainee Rounds
• Providing ideas and feedback on T-CAIREM events and activities
• Guiding T-CAIREM's education and training initiatives
• Building capacity in AI in medicine for undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate trainees
• Creating professional and up-skilling opportunities
• ...and other duties as required.
Eligibility Criteria
• Applicants must be a current University of Toronto faculty member or appointed to a UofT-affiliated institute or hospital while holding this role
• Applicants must be a T-CAIREM member. You can apply here: https://tcairem.utoronto.ca/join-us
• Applicants can be at any faculty level (assistant, associate, or full) and do not need to be in medicine. However, preference will be given to faculty in medicine, medical sciences, or an Artificial Intelligence-related field.
• Applicants must be available for a two-year term
• Successful applicants must be available to attend regularly scheduled meetings.
