T-CAIREM celebrates another successful Toronto Health Datathon at Google!
T-CAIREM's Toronto Health Datathon 2025 attracted over 40 students, trainees, researchers, and professionals. The event, held at the Google offices in downtown Toronto, featured a keynote address by co-presenters Dr. Mark Boulos and Sarah Berger from Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.
Participants used real medical data from the Health Data Nexus (HDN) to develop machine learning models aimed at addressing challenges within Canada's healthcare system.
The winning team used a dataset from the Sunnybrook Sleep Laboratory to address sleep apnea. Members of the winning team included Michael Tran, Shlok Panchal, Baijiang Yuan, Rana AhmedBarghout, Oakley Yang, and Kaylia Chan.
