I am clinician-scientist dedicated to improving clinical outcomes for patients with Age-Related Macular Degeneration. My team's approach is through the development of new Imaging Biomarkers (IBs) that have the potential to improve clinical trial design and clinical practice. Our strengths lie in the deployment of our AI/ML in the clinical setting in over 100 patients, across 600+ imaging sessions to identify new IBs that alone or in combination with others, can serve to predict risk of disease progression and points of potential intervention. We are keenly interested in T-CAIREM to help in the development & deployment of secure, privacy-compliant, patient-based data handling systems, collaboration with computer vision scientists, and potentially the integration of transformer networks and APL to biomedical images. We have developed our own domain-expert interface for ground truth determinations and have over 90,000 images, from which over 10,000 features have been expertly annotated. It is our plan to extend from a single-site study to a multi-site study and bring a physician-based, patient-centric viewpoint to the application of AI/ML and have experience in early real-world deployment of our beta deep NNs.
