I am a mathematical modeler (MSc Modern Epidemiology; PhD Mathematical Epidemiology, Imperial College, UK) and an infectious disease physician. My lab and I conduct data-driven simulation and explanatory modeling to test hypotheses and predict the potential impact of interventions (counterfactuals or 'what if' experiments). We conduct mechanistic modeling as they relate to heterogeneities along the causal pathway from structural, network-level, behavioral, and biological processes that underpin the population dynamics of infectious diseases and intervention outcomes. A key focus of our work has been around model comparisons and value of information related to data and model uncertainty.

Our lab works with multiple types of data across large and diverse datasets, including large-scale programmatic, health-administrative, and socio-economic data from clinical and population-health cohorts and interventions in Canada and in the context of low and middle-income settings. I hope to contribute to the T-CAIREM community via engagement and collaboration on model development and model comparisons, applications to practice and public health responses, and especially engage in a community of practice, education, and mentorship with trainees.
