Samah Hassan
MD, MSc., PhD
Samah Hassan is a postdoctoral fellow, supervised by Dr. Kumbhare in the RPS/Pain Research Institute Lab. She completed her residency in anesthesia and pain medicine at the University of Cairo in Egypt and obtained her Master's and Doctorate degrees from the Institute of Medical Science at U of T. Her PhD thesis focused on the development and validation of the new Pain Competence Assessment Tool (PCAT). Samah has presented her work in numerous national and international forums, including the International Association of Study of Pain (IASP) congress meeting. Since joining RPS/PRI team in September, her research has been focused on assessing chronic pain phenotypes, evaluating chronic pain classifications and diagnostic criteria validity and reliability, and developing an artificial intelligence-integrated database for chronic pain.
