I am a born inquirer and science enthusiast all across the spectrum. Though a bit cliche, this description truly reflects my take on science, be it theoretical or practical (i.e., experimental). I believe science can help us with improved emotional regulation of our lives, an aspect that I have come to discover as instrumental to my own daily operations. I try to not take sides in my learnings and research endeavours and allow serendipity to guide me every and now and then in my scientific/learning pursuits.

I love playing music and I hope one day I could have a tiny music career on the side, mostly as a composer. I have loved playing soccer so much. For the longest time during my teenage years, I thought I would go after a career as a soccer player. I do Persian calligraphy and every now and then I may spend a couple of hours dipping a twig-turned-pen in thick ink and write/draw words. I am currently finishing my PhD in protein biochemistry, biophysics, and structural biology. My target protein for the past 9.5 years has been a 23-kDa protein from HIV.
