David Hodgson
MD
I am a professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology, University of Toronto, with clinical expertise in pediatric cancers and lymphoma. I have a background in (non-wet lab) analytic methods. With my colleagues at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre have developed ML-based approach to improving the efficiency and quality of radiation therapy for children and young adults with brain tumours. Because it is so reliant on the use of imaging, radiation oncology is very well positioned to make important advances in care based on innovations in ML. Increasing collaboration with T-CAIREM would be mutually beneficial by exposing myself and our group to a broader range of methods and ideas, while we (and myself) bring a critical clinical expertise of oncolgy and understanding of the (evolving) strengths and limitations of AI and ML.
