Together with Dr. Chris Baker at the University of New Brunswick an NLP algorithm (ACANOC) was developed to code textual job title to the Canadian National Occupational Classification. ACANOC has been applied to data from CanPATH taking 2 days to code 65,000 records compared to 2 years of manual coding. We recently developed an ensemble Machine Learning approach ENENOC that performs more accurately and faster (2 hours).

We are integrating data describing job function, diagnosis and disability with a view to advancing decision support technology that we have built. We are planning work on the occupational outcomes of back pain patients.
