I am a 4th-year undergraduate student in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology. Since the start of my undergraduate studies, I have been interested in combining my love for computer programming and AI and its applications in health and disease. My primary interests lie in leveraging AI and deep learning to detect cancer development, diagnosis, and metastasis. In 2020, under the UofT COVID-19 Student Engagement Award, my team and I used Python Scikit learn and k-means clustering to analyze the need for healthcare resources across Ontario public health regions, combining epidemiological indicators and socioeconomic factors. Going forward, I am going to be completing a research thesis course under the supervision of Dr. Steven Chan at Princess Margaret Cancer Care center. In summary, I bring ongoing training in the biological sciences, an understanding of epidemiological factors of health, and profound enthusiasm for AI in medicine.
