Agenda

The Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Medicine Bootcamp will take place from October 6–10, 2025, with sessions running daily from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

The program begins on Monday with a welcome and introduction to T-CAIREM, student introductions, and a two-part session on the basics of AI and machine learning (ML), concluding with an overview of the course project.

Tuesday will focus on an introduction to Python programming, followed by ML model development, with dedicated project group work time.

Wednesday will cover ML model evaluation and strategies for communicating model outputs to clinical users, alongside real-life anecdotes of ML applications in healthcare.

On Thursday, students will attend a virtual session discussing the ethics of model development and deployment, with time allocated for group project work.

The bootcamp will culminate on Friday at the University of Toronto Chestnut Conference Centre, where students will finalize and submit their reports, hear from a guest speaker who has applied ML to clinical challenges, and showcase their projects. The day will conclude with an awards ceremony and closing remarks, and students will receive a Certificate of Completion for their participation in the program.
