NTU Workshop (May 13)

T-CAIREM and Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University (NTU) will hold a joint collaboration catalyst workshop on May 13.

This virtual two-hour international workshop brings together University of Toronto faculty researchers and NTU faculty members to build new cross-institutional partnerships in the field of artificial intelligence in healthcare, including mental health, ageing, cancer detection, pathology, AI implementation, and related interdisciplinary fields.

Here are the researchers who will be participating in the workshop.

Why attend?

The workshop is designed to catalyze high-impact international collaborations by:

  • Connecting researchers with complementary expertise
  • Creating themed breakout discussions around shared interests
  • Generating new collaborative research concepts
  • Supporting the development of future joint seed grant proposals
  • Strengthening long-term academic ties between the University of Toronto and NTU.

In this workshop, participants will work in small thematic breakout groups to identify shared priorities and co-develop preliminary project ideas that may be advanced in a future T-CAIREM–NTU funding competition.

Workshop format

  • Location: Virtual
  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Date: Wednesday, May 13th, 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
  • Participants: University of Toronto faculty researchers and NTU faculty members. (Zoom links will be sent to participants before the workshop starts.)

Opportunity for future funding

A key outcome of the workshop will be the development of preliminary cross-institutional project proposals, which may be further refined and submitted to a future joint T-CAIREM–NTU seed grant competition (to be introduced at the workshop).

This is an excellent opportunity for participants to:

  • Build international collaborations
  • Explore novel AI and healthcare research ideas
  • Identify co-investigators for future grants
  • Expand educational and trainee exchange opportunities
  • Contribute to long-term strategic partnerships between both institutions.
